    PATRICK MAHOMES

Patrick talks about how he stays humble being one of the best NFL quarter backs in the league. He says there is highs and lows throughout the season and knowing that he has to remember that it isn’t always going to be success. He says you have to keep building no matter what kind of season you are having. He talks about watching Brett Farve and how he learned a lot about the game of football watching Brett Farve. Mahomes talks about being super humble and he knows that no matter how good people think he is he still has to work as if he is at the bottom. He will never stop trying to better not only himself but his team as well.

    Tyler Lockett

Tyler Lockett grew up with leaders in his family, especially in the football world. That is what shaped him into the leader he is today. He almost gave up on his dream because of the fear not to live up to the legacy like his dad and uncle. The family has gone through three and about to be four generations of Lockett’s to play college football for Kansas State. He started to believe in himself which made him believe in others. Tyler also published a book based on sports, race, identity, and relationships. I think he has grown to motivate younger people to always believe in their dreams.

    Chris Doleman

I chose Chris Doleman because he was a leader in many ways. In the video, his coaches and teammates explains how he lead by example. He was always one of the first to get on the field and one of the last to leave. He continued to improve himself everyday by paying attention to what the coaching were looking for. He also got along with all of his teammates and was a team player. Being the leader he was he earned respect from everyone. His hard work motivated/motivates players then and now to be the best they could/can be.

  • Tyron

    Tyron Morton.
    LeBron James.

I chose LeBron James because hes been in a leader on and off the court since he has joined the league. In this clip, it shows the level of respect that the league and his teammates have for him. Since he has joined the league, King James has been in the conversation as one of the best leaders to ever play the game of basketball.

The leader that I have pick for this assignment is Former Dallas Head Coach and newly inducted Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson. After reading his biography “Turn the thing around.” I found a new respect of what he did with the Cowboys in the early 90’s that lead to 2 Super Bowl wins. In his book he talked about his coaching philosophy and how the power of positive thinking is a better way to try athletes to perform at the top of their game. His accomplishments in both College foot and the NFL lead to him earning his place in the Hall of Fame. His dedication to winning and making things better for him and his time is very inspirational.

    Charles Woodson
I have chosen Hall of Fame DB Charles Woodson for my leadership assignment. Woodson the only defensive player in the history of football to win a Heisman trophy, displayed leadership on and off the field his entire career. Charles is one of the few people to be the defensive captain of his team and also master the offensive playbook and play both ways. Being able to play offense, defense and special teams while being a team captain shows great leadership and responsibility. His leadership was so powerful, Charles was still a team captain in his 18th year in the NFL.

I chose Peyton Manning for my leadership assignment. This is his speech when he was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. The first thing that stuck out to me was how he congratulated everyone that was inducted before he ever talked about himself. He then goes on to talk about how wonderful the Broncos organization is and how much they did for him. When Peyton signed with the Broncos, they went from 8-8 to 13-3 record, and it only took them a few seasons to win a Super Bowl. His presence and leadership on and off the field is what made the Broncos good from 2012-2015.

    I chose Michael Jordan

His fierce competitiveness attracted me to his leadership and work ethic, after I watch “The Last Dance” docu series, it made me realize how much of a leader he really is, he wanted to win in everything, feelings didn’t matter to him because he was only focused on winning. https://youtu.be/WIVKGjA3Dmw

  • Montrell Wilson

I chose Trae young for my leadership assignment his drive for the game is just incredible and mind blowing on what he can do on the court. He is also a positive leader on and off the court with what he does for the community in Oklahoma city and even in Atlanta. The video shows him being drafted by one team and getting switched in the next 5 mins, and as of now in the NBA you can see how he responded with that move that the Dallas mavericks made in the 2018 draft.

  • Derrick Maxwell

I’m doing my leader ship person on Ja Morant. He is the startin Point guard for the Memphis grizzlies. I’ve chose ja Morant because he is a great leader and he is young and he leads his team to great victories when they shouldn’t even be in games. Ja is one of the players that has the X factor three about him and makes him a better player. John didn’t getting home from a big-time school he came from a FCS cool call Murray state. Now he is one of the best young point guards in the league. This video is about ja Morants teammate that says he became a great leader his rookie year and how he change the program. https://youtu.be/sfEchjUe38k

  • Canaan Brooks

The leader I chose is Jerry Rice. Jerry Rice was not always the most vocal leader but he always led by example with his famous work ethic. He is most famously known for his work ethic for running routes full speed a few days after winning a Super Bowl, he also would run all the way to the end zone every time he touched the ball in practice.
